re: #358 Obdicut

The Disney Corporation once sent out a memo telling all its employees that the usage of the phrase Mauschwitz to describe Disney was forbidden. Within a few hours, they were calling it Duckau.

That’s a bit like the anecdote I saw where a employee consultant would survey whether he’d get business or not from a company by walking through their cubicle area and count how many Dilbert cartoons he saw visibly posted.

If he saw none he knew the management was massively overbearing and he’d get business.

If he saw lots of them he knew management had lost touch and he’d get business.

In between was a few that indicated that a degree of criticism was allowed without triggering a backlash. Which indicated that there was less chance of getting hired.
