Jeez—I’m having deja vu (all over again) to 2004, and getting in heated discussions with idiots who just weren’t “excited” about John Kerry, and I kept on saying SUPREME COURT, SUPREME COURT, SUPREME COURT. And then we got W…and then we got John Roberts …and then we almost got fucking Harriet Miers…and then we go Samuel Alito.

But people just weren’t “excited” about John Kerry.

We on the Left, on average, are really pretty goddam dumb. The Right has been all about the courts since at least the 1980s, so they always vote, and they always vote for the Republican candidate.

And us? We say stupid shit like “MY vote has to be WON!”, as if we’re so goddam special that we can just sit out an election if we’re not excited about the candidate and not have the whole country slide into the shitter.
