It was nothing of the sort. He and that guest “poster” implied and explicitly claimed it was a luxury resort - both in the headlines and text.

It was his dishonest smears that led DCFS to kill the proposal, along with the $50 million in economic benefits to the area. For all the talk about jobs, that dishonest smear killed jobs. Weslaco deserves an apology for this nonsense from Jim. They’re the ones who got screwed by this smear, along with the people who would have been served by this charitable group who has done good work across a wide range of missions worldwide to care for the needy.
