re: #361 KiTA

Wait, NOW Gawker has a legal team? Where were they when they decided to post Hogan’s sex tape and ignore a judge’s order to take it down, or when they decided to help a blackmailer out a closeted CFO?

On the other hand, I can’t decide who to root for — Gawker, or Chucky. I guess whoever loses, we win, right?

Gawker has always had a legal team, but whether the editorial side listens to what the legal department has to say - especially given the way they ran the Hogan story and outed a non-public figure - is questionable.

Since Gawker was sued, the legal department has a much stronger say/dictate strategy. As to the editorial side pushing those other stories, editorial may have well overridden what legal said to do (not run).
