Oh I agree. I was trying to find a possibility that accounts for Hecuba’s ‘to be fair’ because she’s right, the folks at the table did indeed gasp when he said it. But I don’t think that grants them anything more than a possible commitment to public decorum.

To me there is no good faith argument about the party not being racist as hell.
