So the White House will allow him to testify before the majority-GOP chamber (the one which acquitted him in the impeachment trial) but not by the majority-Dem chamber led by that “nasty woman.”

Let’s see if the GOP will hold an honest interrogation of Dr. Fauci, or if this is going to be a bunch of grandstanding and bulkshitting.

Just a WAG, of course: but since this is a Republican-led Committee, I’m gonna guess “grandstanding and bulkshitting”.

To me, this “hearing” seems smells mostly like a cheap PR exercise: a desperate attempt to try to salvage some face for the Admin (and by extension, the GOP) for their horrific failures in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

My guess (and my advice if I were advising Sen. Alexander), is that they are going to softball Dr. Fauci, set him up as the “good guy” ,try to ignore Trump where at all possible, then save their REAL scathing for the Committee Democrats - their real targets - for going after said “good guy” and “politicizing a pandemic”.
And then (not overly-optimistically) hope that the media bothsiders the whole thing, and concentrates mostly on the Ds “politicizing”….
