Flew once to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. The runway comes out into the water. As we were coming down to land, all I could see all around me, from the seat where I was, was water. Just water.

Sounds like LaGuardia, which I am reliably informed is nicknamed by commercial pilots as “the aircraft carrier”. Reagan National is a little like that, too.
