In the past they would’ve responded through prepared anodyne press releases and kept their people in defilade. They learned, for awhile at least, after letting Michael Moore interview old addled Charlton Heston. They got off easy then because Heston was sick and therefore somewhat sympathetic and Moore tended to come off somewhat as an ass. They didn’t let their people walk unprepared into an ambush like that again until Dana thought publicly arguing on national television with a bunch of teenage mass shooting survivors was a good idea.

It was not a good idea.

This time they responded with the kind of stuff they used to say only in the back room.

And with a dead-eyed front person who perfectly conveyed how few fucks were given about the dead kids, the live survivors, and human beings in general. Like, a shoggoth wearing that skin suit from The Silence from the Lambs.
