It’s not as though he is a well-known person in the public eye. Who knows how closely he is following any of this? We sometimes assume that because we are glued to the TV or the Internet watching the twists and turns of an important political drama that others are equally engaged. The 65 women who signed the letter of support AFTER the initial allegations were publicized did not come forward to make an official retraction: it required journalists making followup calls to show that only two still affirmed their support. It’s hard for citizens who are not accustomed to the spotlight to announce publicly that they were in error. As others have suggested, Garrett may be consulting attorneys about his legal options.
