re: #363 Love-Child of Cassandra and Sisyphus
Italy reports in with only 743 deaths today, down from the max of 793 . But the new case count is 5,249 , more than yesterday but still below the peak.
Case counting is tough because it depends upon testing and reporting abilities.
Maybe Italy’s lockdown has “flattened the curve” - we’ll know in a week or so.
Perhaps it’s just that the most vulnerable were in the 1st wave, and died at a higher rate?
If the new cases keep going up, but the deaths go down, that will be a natural conclusion.
If, however, cases keep going up, and mortality walks hand-in-hand there, then well, the Devil is in the game and we are truly fucked.
