re: #348 Yeah Sure WhatEVs

If you’re ever in a quake, seconds seem like minutes, and for anyone not used to them, I can’t express the abject terror that goes with it.

I only experienced an earthquake once. I was visiting my daughter in Safed, Israel. I was asleep in bed and woke up by a loud rumbling sound that I thought was a large truck driving down the street. My daughter knocked on the door and said “Did you feel the earthquake!” and I said “I thought that was a truck.” She laughed and said “Look out the window, do you see any trucks?” She lived on a hillside and the windows overlooked a steep drop.

In my semi-asleep state I associated the noise and the rumbling with something that is familiar to my experience, which does not include freaking EARTHQUAKES.
