re: #359 Citizen K

While I’m obvious not black (Filipino here), we have much the same concept of extended family, where close friends of the family are otherwise treated as familial as well. Several of my parents close friends and Filipino colleagues were treated as ‘Titos’ or ‘Titas’, uncles or aunts, to our family, with our blood uncles and aunts called ‘Uncle ___’ or ‘Aunt ____’ as a means of distinction. Though regardless, ‘Titos’ and ‘Titas’ were still uncles and aunts to us in all but blood.

I’m white but a friend of my dad who actually introduced my parents is like that. And his brother sees my dad as another older brother.
