Pandemics are unprecedented events, and the depth of the collapse misses lots of jobs, and even this figure is questionable based on the data provided.

Wolfers got it - this isn’t so much jobs recovered as adjusting the downward spiral so it is marginally better than the historically awful figures (which are still historically awful).

There’s a reason the CBO warns it’ll take a decade for the economy to recover.

Millions of businesses will not recover from this. That’s millions of jobs that aren’t coming back, even with a stimulus package (or 4).
