It’s the “family values” oh-so-religious hypocrisy that’s going to kill Cruz if this is true.

Everyone knows Trump is a liar and a cheat. And his supporters love him. Cruz, OTOH, is supposed to be Christ reborn (poetic license, but you get my point). His supporters are True Believers. And that’s what’s going to kill him.
