Not just actors; Mel Gibson’s most recent film, Hacksaw Ridge, has received quite positive reviews and has been nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Film and a Best Director nod for Gibson. Clint Eastwood is a director I personally consider one of the all-time best American directors. He knows how to tell a story and get very good performances from his actors - I recently had a chance to see Changeling and I enjoyed it greatly.

Gibson and Eastwood are artists - their respective politics may not be mine, but I would never deny their talents.
