Racism is, unfortunately, part of the human experience. I suspect part of it can be traced back to early man wanting to protect his clan/tribe from outsiders and the bad things they could bring (disease, war, death).

Yeah it’s unfortunate. My niece was saying that she couldn’t be “her mother’s last name” because she’s too light. I want her to embrace her unique background. She’s got cousins on three different continents.
