Except for that little dust up in the XIX Century where they made war on migrants crossing Utah, Mormons have generally been welcoming of immigrants and asylees. Having been run out of several areas, they tend to support others in that position.

Of course, it wasn’t until 1978 that the Mormon Church finally decided that African-Americans deserved full equality in their church.
