Town's Officers Resign En Masse When First Black Mayor Elected

This post is a reminder of how incredibly backward some areas of the US still are. If Missouri hadn’t been forced to accept desegregation black people would still be fighting to be recognized as human beings there. And there are still elements of this racist legacy that are trying to hold on to the privilege they had a century ago.

America has a lot to be proud of, but the legacy of slavery remains our deepest shame. And its effects are still being felt.
