I wouldn’t even say that’s selective. It’s just ignorant of the history of the region. Man would these people be confused during WWI though since Christian German and Austria-Hungary along side Muslim Ottomans but they were fighting Christian French, British, and Muslim Arabs.

It’s a cherry-picking approach of taking selected facts or Scriptural quotes and applying them totally out of context to support some preconceived notion.
