Traynor was really popular in the Twin Cities. The band I was in in the early 70’s had Ampeg amps with the big cabinets (I’m a drummer so I don’t know the details other than they were tall). I loved the sound of those amps. The Faces used those amps too.
The Ampegs were probably SVTs - when I played bass I had one with an ATA flight case (AKA an Anvil case). Far and away the heaviest amp I’ve ever owned, both in terms of weight and the sound they produced. Lucky for me, I had a road crew in that band and never had to lift it.
The Stones got those amps before anybody - Ampeg gave them nine prototype heads after they fried all their Fender gear due to a voltage mix up. The story is here - ampeg.com
I also used a VT-22 combo for guitar for a while. Loved that amp.
