I can even imagine Heidkamp, McKaskill, Manchin and another red state dem cutting a deal with Sasse, Flake, Collins and Murkowski that “if you vote no on Kavanaugh, I’ll vote yes on Amy Coney Barrett.”

It would make a point that the D’s objections are about this nominee in particular, not every single conservative ever. And the R’s would get to preen about taking public sentiment and women’s safety seriously.
