Guess what, folks, us whites are going to have to deal with this, the fact that, even among the better of us, the 80s in the south were a time of at best indifference for a lot of people. And what the GOP would love more than anything would be for the Democrats in VA to self-immolate so they can regain control of the state.

I’ve said this before: until a couple of years ago, I had no idea that blackface hadn’t gone out with Vaudeville. I would not have “got” that it was offensive in itself.

Plus, Herring wasn’t mocking black people, he was dressing up as someone he admired.
