The NRA Publishes Its Enemies List

Speaking of enemies lists… I’m digging into my genealogy, doing work on one side which needs a lot of work (lots of confusing data by distant relatives). Getting the provenance on this stuff is difficult but I think important.

According to internet sources, the biggest genealogy in the world is supposed to be that of Confucius, and there are organizations dedicated to his family tree all around the world.

There are some who want to claim the genealogies in the Bible as their own… but frankly the provenance is just not there. People want to believe all sorts of things, but they are just not true.

Speaking of which, some of my relatives working on my Norwegian side have traced our tree back to a guy born around 1200, called Ogma[u]nd the Crusador (yes, those Crusades.) I haven’t checked the provenance myself, but I do know that the Norwegians have been re-recording and digitizing any scrap of genealogical data they can find (and they even have some of the archives translated to English, online), and supposedly these have been checked.

Assuming this research is true, Ogmund of (at) Spondheim has indeed many descendants and I am but one of countless thousands (hundreds of thousands no doubt.) Supposedly he was one of the crusader Kings of Norway, and he tends to show up in many people’s ancestry in part because he no doubt had quite the pick of women. I suspect he left descendants all over Europe, and Turkey, and even Palestine.

We are all one big happy family.
