Fees are like targeted taxes- I really can’t think of a worse way to stimulate “growth”. It should go against all the anti-tax theorems of the right. Yet they love them.

Here’s part of the issue: According to Grover Norquist, fees for service are not taxes. Which means that fees can be raised without violating The Pledge.

Note: I don’t agree with Norquist and if you’ve read my Pages you know I’ve been highly critical of him.
