Again, because the Ottomans collapsed, the Sauds came to power. They eventually got back to their old tricks of promoting radicalism. Because of that, 9/11 occurred.

Britain should have made an effort to keep the Ottomans neutral in the War. Or, hell, promise them back something in return. Libya, perhaps? Italy was at first on the German side after all.
