Agreed. If Trump crossed that line it would be first-rate political seppuku.

As dumb as he is, there are people around him who are slightly less dumb who realize the shitstorm it would bring down.

We used to joke in my family that my grandfather probably would have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD had he not been born in the 1920s. I kind of feel the same way about Trump - he has the same lack of impulse control that someone with undiagnosed ADD/ADHD might have. And worse, he’s been enabled his whole life by being born into privilege and never having anyone that would tell him “no.” So, it would absolutely not surprise me to see his aides and congressional allies tell him that he shouldn’t do this, and then see him promptly ignore them and do it anyway. The question is, really: what does the rest of the GOP do when Trump crosses that line?
