This tweet is typical of the responses I’m seeing to articles about NK’s ‘charm offensive’ - “Stop saying nice things about her! They’re terrible!!”

I think Jeet’s characterization of some of the reactions to his NK/SK thread as “willfully obtuse” is being a little too kind, IMO. The level of self-deluding misinterpretation, not only of what he said, but of Korean affairs in general, is pretty sick. Even assuming that all of Jeet’s responders are real people (a stretch, but never mind), the automatic vilification of anyone even remotely criticizing Trump, or anyone in his Admin, the personal insults, the mindless blame-shifting, etc. are a fairly sad commentary on the state of this country.

And yeah, he’s spot-on (IMO) in the core of his analysis: the Trump Administration is taking a belligerent line vs. NK mainly for domestic political purposes: the priorities and considerations of the South Koreans (like not wanting to have a bloody, possibly nuclear war erupt in their country) are basically being ignored.
