re: #353 KGxvi

I mentioned the other day that litigating cases in public is a dangerous game. Avenatti’s decision to go public with these documents, at this time, is not the decision I would have made. In part because it exposes him to having to answer the question of how he got them. And in part because it is always much more fun to surprise the other side with information like this in a motion (or deposition/discovery setting) that they aren’t prepared for rather than on TV, and giving them the chance to go to the judge to accuse you of bad acts.

Big question in all of this. Who does Michael Avenatti work for? Do we know all in that regards. Sure, he works for Stormy; does that mean that is all he can do and is doing in this case?

I know nothing of the law, just looking around. As an artist one of the biggest lessons I learned was you have to learn to look at the negative shapes in the design. In other words, what is between and around the obvious shapes, because those shapes can have as much impact on the design as those positive and known.

What are the unknowns about Avenatti? All I know is he is sharp, quick-witted and fun as hell to watch just by his nature and what he is doing. But I don’t know all.

He has been cagey about making it clear. He doesn’t commit to coming out and saying Stormy pays him and he is her lawyer and her lawyer only. He often times says that isn’t something everyone needs to know.

I like him, but you may be on to something and it may just end up being that Avenatti may have a bigger role in some of this than what is totally known. Even if he was tipped to be the guy to take this case by ‘someone’ unknown. How did they get together?
