From the scientific literature, though, it does appear as if most Chinese genomicists and anthropologists fully agree with the sapiens dispersal from Africa.
However, the lay culture may still be imbued with this idea of a separate evolution.
It’s a government thing, I’m sure. In professional literature, there is little deviance from the idea of common ancestry. But the government prefers a more public explanation of Chinese exceptionalism. So, some scientists have to spout the party line, as when two of them were interviewed by Prof Alice Roberts for one of her docos.
