Actually, it’s worse than that for them. When this all began a month ago, the count was roughly around 220 votes in favor of an impeachment inquiry. Today it’s over 230. The idea that impeachment would remain unpopular or become more so, scaring red state Dems into voting against it, has pretty much fallen by the wayside by this point.
