While we were waiting for the chance to throw our one and only live grenade in Basic, the platoon warmed up by throwing de-milled shells through a wooden frame the size of a Macy’s window. A guy ahead of me threw his, hit the frame, and it bounced back directly between his feet. Good omen.

There’s a GIF I use frequently at work of a poor benighted soldier who tries to toss a grenade (not a live frag, maybe a flashbang or something similar), and winds up bouncing it off a tree and back into his own foxhole. He manages to scramble out of the foxhole and avoid damage, at least.
