Ah, erm, banks can’t do business with anyone on the Office of Foreign Asset Control’s list. Which I still believe includes Iran. And I know my evil, too big to fail employer is all over verifying names on the list. I’m being serious here, if our implementation of the list isn’t available, some accounts can’t be opened and some transactions cannot be processed. It is a big deal.
