I’d be willing to bet that 80-90% of most cities elected officials have the endorsement of their city’s police unions and fat campaign donations every time they come up for election. In this country, police brutality is not treated as a human rights issue, it’s treated as a political issue. Hence why we hear so much shit about the “bad apples” and promises of “reform” that never seem to go anywhere.
