January 6th WAS a wake-up call, just not the one the Trumpers anticipated. The law-enforcement response in the days afterward, along with their friends and relatives turning in many of their number to the authorities has shown that they don’t have the popular support they thought they had, and that the pass for their lawlessness their whiteness and professed support of Trump and “the Blue” gavr them has limits.
