The best comment I’ve seen on IQ test is that they clearly show how good you are.. at solving IQ tests.
Worse than the misunderstanding that a high IQ means you are objectively “intelligent” is the attempts to try to show racial differences on the grounds of IQ test performance. And indeed, such differences could be shown. They were especially high when no attempt was made to try to develop a comparable test for the local culture. Try solving a Rubik’s cube when you think the objective is to make patterns. :/

My IQ averages about 133 over several tests, but my EQ is probably in the single digits, and my true social ability is in negative territory. They really are not good tests.
