I honestly never liked that song. They made us do some silly flag dance with it in grade school. Agh. It’s just honestly not a good song. I love our country but that song is just so tacky. By the way, I thikn it’s “Proud To Be An American.”

No, it’s “God Bless the USA,” I had to look it up. Pure early-80s pseudo-patriotism, the patriotism substitute that we were supposed to swallow as the country went down the tubes under Reagan. You know, “He made us good about ourselves!” as fucked over the unions and oversaw the selling off of jobs to overseas sweat shops.
