There’s a reason why some people think the Maliki School of Sharia Law influenced English Common Law. The Normans yanked away Muslim Sicily (yes, it was part of a Caliphate at one point in time). This was before their seizure of England. Not to mention that, given Geography, England had anomalously strong relationships the the Muslim Caliphates. I’m not entirely sure why.
