Saying Americans exterminated everything while talking about liberating Auschwitz sounds wrong too. We didn’t “exterminate” the Germans by any means either. And you’re right D-Day had nothing to do with the liberation of Auschwitz. By June 1944, the Russians had the Germans on the defensive.
