RecoveryRetrieval Artist, by Kristine Kathryn Rusch. I’m an ex-lawyer and the first book “The Disappeared” attracted my attention because of the way conflicts of law are handled between human and non-human cultures. It’s what gives rise to the conflict of the book. But it’s not all lawyering, not at all.

Looks really keen — I’m adding the first book to my Christmas wishlist. :)
