Don’t take this comment the wrong way, but as an animal lover and advocate, it sort of surprises me you would attend a horse race. A lot of animal lovers seem to find it hard on the horses, etc. and really do not like horse racing.

I admit, I am neutral, but sometimes I do see it as a bit cruel, especially when a horse has to be put down from a bad racing accident.

It’s hard on the jockeys, too. I became less than a fan when I learned that every horse that races in So. Cal. is given an anti-bleeding drug so they don’t bleed in their lungs.

But where does one draw the line? Rodeo is cruel. Boxing is cruel. Football is cruel. Or is dangerous a better word? There was a bike racing fatality last week.
