And frankly it was just thought to be political violence before the world knew the horrors of the camps. I understand why someone may take her comments the wrong way but we need to remember that in 1938, Jews fleeing Europe weren’t seem as fleeing a genocide. We have no idea what’s going to happen in Central America. Perhaps not genocide but democide is a possibility with autocratic leaders rising.
