Never tarried in the Faroe’s, but I love how Irish sheep have different colors painted on them depending on their owners, and seeing hundreds of them grazing on a Connemara hillside (no doubt plotting treason) is quite a sight.

Often the colors are due to erm, acts of congress. They attach a dye block to the chest of the ram, and it marks the ewe so the farmer knows which sheep have been given special cuddles by which ram.

Please don’t ask how I know this.
