The rightwingers see that failure of society as great proof that (even) children can capitalist to save a family member. So, what’s wrong?

For one thing, if Mama Martinez needs serious “kidney and pancreas treatment”, $1,100 is likely to be less than a drop-in-the-bucket as far as the overall cost of any significant treatment regimen is concerned. A nice story to be sure, but yeah: the takeaway from it should be “failure of the system” not “heartwarming junior entrepreneurship”. But probably won’t be.
