I’ve been thinking about the PBS movie of Ursula LeGuin’s “The Lathe of Heaven” a lot recently. It’s about a man (George Orr) who’s dreams change reality, and the doctor who tries to use his dreams to “fix” the world. The scene below happens after the doctor suggests that George dream about overpopulation:

Wow, I remember watching that back in the day when I was in high school. Would’ve been in late 1986…film studies class. Only difference was because the Film Studies (and English lit) teacher was personal friends with Ursula K. LeGuin, he asked her to come in and take questions from us after we watched the last episode. Which she did. Which was all kinds of awesomesauce.
