I agree. Ludwig is making me take a look deeper, but that definitely was not what I think about Cliff and this issue. Cliff’s statement was closer to the reality I know.

So if you really want to help immigrants you see to it that they have to be paid just like American citizens would AND you make certain that the immigrants need work papers to get those jobs.

That way you prevent the creation of an underclass and you dry up the pool of people who would exploit them. You also make the attempt to come to America illegally less attractive.

Anything else is simply pretending you are doing some fellow a kindness by paying him less than a buck an hour to pick your fruit.
