There will always be plenty of derp filled, racist assholes who think that placing landmines along the Mexican border is a good idea. Someone needs to point them towards countries where decades after a conflict ends, people are still dying from landmines.

They won’t care, of course, but hopefully enough sensible people around them will talk them out of that bit of idiocy. Or, they’ll arrest these morons for trying to make and lay landmines in an area.

I suppose they see, laid out before them, a flat, clearly marked strip running the length of the border, visible in all directions, with land mines in it. Between two countries where no one ever goes driving to make out with girls, has animals wander off, goes hiking, or drives into Mexico to get the other kind of laundry detergent, except through clearly marked, heavily staffed, crossings.

Also, deer, cattle, coyotes, and heavy armadillos know not to go near the clearly marked strip.
