Meanwhile, here in Europe, Swedish wingnuts have just found themselves outmanuevered.

Sweden’s government has scrapped plans to run a snap election in 2015 after crisis talks between Prime Minister Stefan Lfven and the Alliance parties, which has been dubbed the ‘December agreement.’

“We who are here are prepared to take responsibility for how Sweden is to be governed. Constructive talks have taken place in the last few days,” Lfven told reporters at a 10:30 press conference held in Stockholm.

He added that the arrangement has been called the ‘December agreement’ and its goal is to ensure that a minority government can govern.

What this does, basically, is leave the SD (Swedish Democrats), a far-right political party that polled at 13% in the recent elections, politically isolated. The SD had been hoping to gain further parliamentary seats in the (now-canceled) 2015 elections - and it looks like that’s just not gonna happen.

I can only imagine that the Swedish wingnuts are crying in their akvavit right about now. Heh.
