What’s sad is that disapproval of the House of Saud used to be a bipartisan position, that while we might accept (reluctantly) the need for an ally in the region, we still felt that they did too little to combat terrorism and too much to promote it.

I say “used to” because then Jan 2017 came and roughly a quarter of the nation suddenly decided that being best buds with the House of Saud was cool if Donald Trump was promoting it.

Putin too. Putin has grown more acceptable to parts of our population and it’s not a coincidence where that began.
