How I use (some of) my time in solitary. Completed another model kit. This is a PM 1/72 Spitfire V floatplane. There were only 6 Spitfire floatplanes for the very good reason that there was no use for them by the time they were ready. It was the fastest seaplane of the time (370 mph), and quite possibly the best looking, though.
The kit was simple, almost primitive, but I still had some trouble with the build, especially with the paint. As you can see it is quite small. I am working myself up to some of the mega-model projects I have, like the giant Saturn V, which is the same scale but comes out to over 5 feet in height when finished.[Embedded content]
Very nice. Some of the Spitfire evolved out of a floatplaneāthe Supermarine Swift, built for cup racing. Revell had a kit in the day.
