Oh, totally. In American politics, someone identifying as a ‘libertarian’ almost always means that they’re a minarchist with minimal understanding of actual economics, the way that rights function in the legal system, etc. I’m just pointing out that, like the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea isn’t Democratic or a Republic, most people who say that they’re ‘libertarians’ aren’t. They don’t have a sophisticated enough understanding of rights and liberties to really call themselves that. It’s like sixteen year old kids calling themselves Communists. They don’t actually understand what Communism entails, but they know it pisses of dad and makes them seem like rebels.
